Business Start Ups
We can guide you through the first steps of setting up a business, whether as a sole trader, partnership or limited company and can assist in the registration of your business with HM Revenue and Customs and Companies House where appropriate.
We can also provide a company incorporation, company secretarial and registered office service.
Accounts Preparation
Every business is required to prepare annual accounts, whether they just consist of a simple Profit and Loss Account or a full set of statutory accounts. We can provide these using your own records as a starting point.
We can also prepare regular management accounts on a quarterly or monthly basis to ensure that you are have up to date information on the performance of your business.
Although we do not provide audit services, we do have a close link with another firm of accountants who work alongside us in performing audits for those clients whose level of turnover has increased to the audit threshold (currently £5.6 million) or for those who require auditing services for other reasons, such as charities.
Taxation
We deal with all aspects of both personal and corporate tax, and can help you structure your business to ensure that you make the most of your available allowances when calculating your tax liabilities.
We currently complete self assessment tax returns for sole traders, partners and directors of companies as well as for individuals whose investments mean that they are required to declare their income to HM Revenue and Customs each year, whether these be for example stock market purchases or buy-to-let properties.
We also provide tax services for limited companies, including the completion and submission of the annual corporation tax return.
For both corporate and individual clients, we will advise you of your forthcoming tax liabilities and will also discuss any tax planning advice
Bookkeeping
We currently provide bookkeeping services for a wide range of businesses and can structure this service to meet your needs, whether it be the regular maintenance of your records using the paperwork that you provide or a more comprehensive service covering everything down to the payment of your suppliers.
VAT and Payroll
VAT and payroll assistance form part of the package that we provide for many businesses who use our bookkeeping service, and we also offer these services independently.
We can offer advice on all aspects of the VAT system and also complete VAT returns on your behalf or alternatively assist you if you wish to complete the returns yourself.
We can also provide payroll services, whatever the number of employees. With each payroll run, we provide payslips for distribution to your employees together with reports summarising the cost to the business. This service also includes the administration of the PAYE scheme to ensure that you are made aware of amounts due to HM Revenue and Customs as and when they arise, and the completion of statutory forms including year end returns.
